On Sunday morning after catching a taxi back to Ao Chalong, we found Eky having breakfast at a German bakery just down from the pier so we joined him (and about half a dozen more germans from the anchorage)..
After taking the dinghy back to Blue Lagoon, we set sail and made fantastic time back to Ko Rok. Roughest conditions we'd encountered so far with approximately 3 meter swell but fantastic winds saw us frequently sailing around 10 knots and arriving just on dark.
Next day winds were almost as good and we sailed the 63NM back to Rebak, Langkawi, in time for dinner.
Tuesday we drove back in to Kuah for check-in, customs and clearance, as well as shopping for supplies and tools. In the evening Roger invited us aboard Dandelion for drinks, always good company too. Which we followed by pizza at the Hard Dock.
This morning we cleaned the boat and loaded some more provisions aboard, in preparation for leaving tommorrow morning for the sail down past Singapore to Kota Kinabalu. After filling the water tanks it was time for a last swim at the pool and saying goodbye to a lot of the friends made here over the past months. A little sad to be leaving this fantastic marina but looking forward to our trip South along the Malacca straight.
Our proposed route:
Ao Chalong
The past week has taught us a lot of extra navigation skills using the radar, chartplotter and now also a separate C-MAP navigation system via GPS and laptop, as well as paper based charts. No excuse for not knowing where we are now.
