Leaving Rebak Tomorrow

It's nice to be back at Rebak again and see dad and Eky.  I arrived around 11pm local time Thur night after a decent days flying with only a minor stuff-up on my part, booking my connecting flight with Malaysia Air from the wrong airport 30 mins away from KLIA, and not having the time to make the connection.  No huge drama, flying is cheap within KL and managed to get on the next Air Asia flight to Langkawi and still arrive at Rebak around 11pm after a short taxi and ferry trip to the Island. Then it's a couple of drinks and a catch up with the boys aboard Blue Lagoon.

Saturday was spent going through the workings of the watermaker and installing new filters as well as familiarising ourselves with the sails and some last minute tidying up for our departure to Thailand on Monday.  We did manage to fit in some pool time as well, followed by a BBQ on the dock with maybe 40 other boaties.  BYO meat and for 5MYR a bunch of kids from the marina will cook it for you over a 44 gallon drum, converted to a BBQ.  Great company as always and some excellent guitar and sax playing made for a great evening.

Sunday morning it was off to Kuah to get some passport photos, tools and provisions for the trip and we didn't get back until late afternoon.  After dinner at the Hardstand with Geoff from Soul, and a drink up at the Minum Minum bar it was back to the boat for another drink or 2.  It's a hard life :)
