15th - 16th August

On the evening of the 15th we sailed past Port Klang. This is Malaysia's biggest harbour and some of the container ships we saw were stacked with around 3000 shipping containers. Just past this is Royal Selangor Yacht Club. Not a great marina by any stretch of the imagination with filthy water filled with floating rubbish and debris. We docked at the entrance of the marina and took the dinghy across to the yacht club which in itself was reasonably nice, having been recently reconstructed after a petrol station explosion destroyed the previous club. I was told the yacht club was designed by a prominent Malaysian architect and the club has received a large amount of corporate funding.

The food at the club was great and afterwards we took the dinghy back to the other side of the inlet and checked out some more seafood restaurants there, populated mostly by the local Chinese.

In the morning of the 16th we decided to forgo refuelling and instead left at daybreak and motored 45NM south to Admiral Marina, just past Port Dickson.

Shipping traffic is definitely increasing towards Singapore and we spotted a number of oil rigs along the way as well. On arrival to Admiral Marina, we fuelled up and arranged a berth for the night. This marina is fantastic with a great pool, beautiful amenities and surrounded by holiday resorts and apartments.

Definitely the nicest since leaving Rebak.
